Buying a Home in Edmond and the OKC Metro

A search built on what you actually need, with two agents who can tell you what's behind the walls.

We find it for you

The usual way to buy a house is to set up an alert and scroll. We think that's backwards. We start with a free consultation, then work toward pre-approval so we know your buying power before we start looking. We ask you what you actually need, then we go find it, and we send a few homes with a plain opinion on each, not a flood of listings. When we find one that's 95 percent or better, we talk about whether it's the one to write an offer on. No house is 100 percent, and we'll say so.

Our job isn't to talk you into a house. It's to help you understand what you're buying.

Two agents who know what's behind the walls

You work with both of us. Mark started in mortgage lending, spent years on the builder side, and knows new construction, acreage, and waterfront. Kelli has an interior design degree and 21 years around new construction, and she reads what's behind the walls, not just the staging. Together we have more than 40 years in building, lending, and real estate, which means we can tell you what a house will really cost to own, not only what it costs to buy.

A good acreage property or a quirky home often doesn't show up cleanly in a standard search, so we look beyond the automatic alerts for what's coming and what's quietly available.

What to expect when you work with us

Buying a home is a lot of roles at once: handling multiple offers, working through a hard seller, keeping you steady, and keeping you current on the market. Our job is to run your purchase so smoothly that it feels simple. Here is what you get:

  • Inventory, market and neighborhood knowledge
  • Clear communication, so you always know where things stand
  • Personal, concierge-style service
  • Negotiation on your behalf, backed by relationships with other agents
  • The know-how to turn up homes that are not obvious in a search
  • Access to listings from other agents at The Agency, when they are available

The home buying process at a glance

Every purchase is a little different, but most follow the same seven steps.

  1. Organize your finances and get pre-approved.
  2. Decide your search criteria and limits.
  3. Research and tour homes.
  4. Make an offer.
  5. Negotiate the contract and work through to closing with the title company.
  6. Do the final walk-through and close.
  7. Move in.

We go through each one in detail in how we help you buy.

Costs to plan for

Once you know your price range, plan for more than the price. Closing costs, moving costs, property taxes and possible HOA dues all belong in the budget. Your lender can estimate your down payment and closing costs, and we walk you through the rest. Everything in a home purchase can be negotiated, and we help you negotiate the contract so you get the best home at the best value.

A team behind us

We are part of The Agency, where agents work together instead of alone. We talk with other agents about new listings and what is coming, and that shared knowledge helps our buyers. The Agency also has agents in other markets, so if you are moving to or from another city, we can connect you with someone there. Our office is an independently owned and operated franchisee of The Agency Real Estate Franchising, LLC.

What we help you buy

We buy across Edmond and the Oklahoma City metro, and four kinds of homes are where we do our best work: new construction, acreage and land, waterfront homes, and homes with character. If you're moving from out of state, see relocation.
